Downloaded latest version 2.31 but every time I try to load an image or open a settings screen the application stalls (beachball) and I need to force quit it. Is macOS 11.4 supported?

Sure. It freezes on basically anything, like calling the "About StrokesMaker" window or preferences… See video:
Update: I just saw that the screenrecording does not record the spinning beachball but instead shows the cursor - in reality the beachball is present shortly after doing anything in SM…

Have you tried opening one of the shared examples (Billie, John Snow, Hathi) ?
